Membership Info

TO ALL MEMBERS APPLYING OR SOUTH DAKOTA HIGH SCHOOL RODEO MEMBERSHIP:

• SDHSRA and NHSRA Applications are all processed and FEES PAID through the NHSRA Membership portal.  
• No applications will be accepted through the mail.
• Upload completed form to NHSRA Membership Portal > Member Documents > New Document > State Application
• Payment must be made and will be prompted for when registering on the nhsra.com application process. There is not another payment option.
• Membership applications are accepted with BASE MEMBERSHIP FEES ($194.67) from September 1st – November 1st.
• LATE MEMBERSHIP FEES:
  November 2nd – January 1st – $319.67
  January 2nd – February 15th – $444.67
  The late fee can be paid by Venmo @SDHSRodeo or by check to 13625 Rabbit Creek Pl, Reva, SD 57651.

South Dakota Regions

You must rodeo in the region your school is in unless you request a transfer for one of two reasons –

• A custody situation where one parent lives in a different region than you attend school in.
• You are team roping with a person from another region than you attend school in.

If this is the case, the person wanting to transfer must contact a Director from the region they are leaving AND the region the are requesting to transfer to, and get their permission. The deadline for region transfers is prior to the Winter Board Meeting (Saturday Before the 20X Rodeo).

OUT OF STATE MEMBERSHIP POLICY

South Dakota High School Rodeo will allow residents of border state’s membership applications to be accepted per individual request, if they have not applied for membership in another state for that competing year, to be submitted to the Board of Directors through the State High School Rodeo Secretary no later than 20 days prior to the Annual General Membership meeting, to be held the last Saturday of September in Pierre/Ft. Pierre.

Membership Packet Information

Once your membership information is received and processed, you will receive a letter and you may print out your membership card from nhsra.com, member login information. You will not receive one in the mail.  You will need to print the following information to complete your membership information, this is your responsibility. They are updated after the September Annual Meeting and as needed during the year.

• Professional’s Choice Equine Athlete of the Month - Equine Athlete- Monthly Winners receive an SMB Elite Value Pack and year end winners will receive a $1000 scholarship for 1st and a $500 scholarship for reserve  Monthly winners are selected for both High School and Junior High Divisions; 1 boy and 1 girl for each month (for a total of 4 members)!
