TO ALL MEMBERS APPLYING OR SOUTH DAKOTA HIGH SCHOOL RODEO MEMBERSHIP:

*** Membership applications are taken via the NHSRA online process beginning September 1^st, and end February 15^th. Significant late fees apply after November 1.
*** Membership is only taken online through the NHSRA implemented membership application process. No forms are mailed, payment must be paid through the NHSRA portal.
*** Please follow the instructions carefully to become members for the 2023-2024 NHSRA season.

South Dakota Region Map

You must rodeo in the region your school is in unless you request a transfer for one of two reasons –

1. A custody situation where one parent lives in a different region than you attend school in.
2. You are team roping with a person from another region than you attend school in.

• If this is the case, the person wanting to transfer must contact a Director from the region they are leaving AND the region the are requesting to transfer to, and get their permission. March 1^st is the deadline for region transfers.

OUT OF STATE MEMBERSHIP POLICY

South Dakota High School Rodeo will allow residents of border state’s membership applications to be accepted per individual request, if they have not applied for membership in another state for that competing year, to be submitted to the Board of Directors through the State High School Rodeo Secretary no later than 20 days prior to the Annual General Membership meeting, to be held the last Saturday of September in Pierre/Ft. Pierre.

Membership Packet Information

• Once your membership information is received and processed, you will receive a letter and you may print out your membership card from nhsra.com, member login information. You will not receive one in the mail.  You will need to print the following information off of sdhsra.com, membership, to complete your membership information, this is your responsibility. They are updated after the September Annual Meeting and as needed during the year.

  Student Athlete- Monthly Winners receive an Air Ride Saddle Pad and year end winners will receive a $1000 scholarship for 1st and a $500 scholarship for reserve

• NHSRA Equine Athlete of the Month form...

  Equine Athlete- Monthly Winners receive an SMB Elite Value Pack and year end winners will receive a $1000 scholarship for 1st and a $500 scholarship for reserve

  Monthly winners are selected for both High School and Junior High Divisions; 1 boy and 1 girl for each month (for a total of 4 members)!

FOLLOW THOSE INSTRUCTIONS SO THAT YOU CAN BECOME A MEMBER FOR THE 2022-2023 RODEO SEASON:

South Dakota High School Membership Deadline is November 1, 2022.

Every active member already has an account (even if you have NOT logged into the system yet).

****DO NOT create a new account if you have ever been a High School or Junior High Rodeo member –use the RENEWING MEMBER LOG IN!

When you complete the renewal or new registration process in your profile it will tell you (in big bold letters) to stop and print your national application and liability waiver for signature, then upload them back to the site under the appropriate category. It will also provide post registration instructions for your South Dakota forms, and direct you to payment information. Payment must be made through the nhsra prompts.

Follow These Instructions for the SD Application Form!

1. Follow the link for South Dakota High School (below)

1. Select 2022-2023 South Dakota High School Rodeo Application Membership Form.
2. Download Form onto your computer & type in the fillable sections. Print the form, sign and have school sign.
3. Once all forms (National membership, Notarized Minor’s Release, South Dakota Application) are COMPLETELY typed in, signed and notarized, UPLOAD FORMS TO THE NATIONAL SITE, UNDER MEMBER DOCUMENTS!
4. They Must be uploaded INDIVIDULLY and LABELED (don’t send image 1, image 2, image 3) as follows:

• National Membership to National Paperwork Category, National Membership Application
• Minor’s Release to National Membership Category, Notarized Minors Release Form
• South Dakota Membership Application to State Paperwork Category, State Application

 HOW TO UPLOAD FORMS TO THE YOUR NHSRA PORTAL ON THE NATIONAL SITE, UNDER MEMBER DOCUMENTS

They Must be uploaded INDIVIDUALLY and LABELED as follows:

• National Membership to National Paperwork Category, National Membership Application
• Minor’s Release to National Membership Category, Notarized Minors Release Form
• South Dakota Membership Application to State Paperwork Category, State Application

- to do this go into your member’s portal, up on the top bar click member documents, then name the document to upload, select the category and go find your document/picture on your device (where you saved it), then click upload.
* do this with each of the 3 or 4 (if home schooled) documents

Payment must be made and will be prompted for when registering on the nhsra.com application process. There is not another payment option.

* When all completed, go to http://www.sdhsra.com/membership/application-forms.html, membership packet and print off the informational forms. Member Packet information is updated after the September Annual Meeting each year.
- ONLY those new members will be receive a rule book in the mail.

* To complete your membership, Print off your membership card, if you wish to do so, from your nhsra portal.
* When your membership is processed by both the NHSRA and the SDHSRA, your status on your nhsra login page will change to “active” and your name will appear on the sdhsra.com website, membership.

REQUIRED CALENDAR SALES INFORMATION:

***Each member MUST SELL 6 SDHSRA CALENDARS BY MARCH 1ST of the current rodeo year to complete the membership requirement.
